Strike a match

I heard a quote the other day I am not sure who said it. "Lord light a flame in me, so people can see me burn"

That struck me in a special way. I was always the type of person who didn’t want to stand out. However, that never happened. Growing up I was picked on in school about my weight, and I was a late bloomer socially; felt rejected by some in my family and just never accepted. Until I became a Christ follower I never wanted to have the attention. Never felt worthy, and even now it is hard to be in front of anyone. I began praying that God would use me....Hahaha then he called me to preach. I felt fear and way out of my element. But God answered my prayer. He began to show me that I have value and that I had purpose. Some people see God as a mean old man ready to beat you down when you mess up. Some see him as distant and not really in control but sitting back and watching what He created. I see God as someone who cared for me when no one else did. He took time building me up when everyone tried to tear me down. He is the one who wont give up on you even when you give up on you.

Never let anyone tell you that you are not good enough. Whether you’re a mother, father, daughter, son, gay, straight, a drinker, an athlete, a politician, or a blue collar worker swinging a hammer, God wants to make you a better person. He sees someone so special, and he wants to have a relationship with you today. My prayer is you look past all the dogma and religion and just ask Jesus to be your friend you are special.

God my prayer for myself is, "Lord light a flame in me, so people can see me burn"
