God Speaking

Hebrews 1:1-4: 1 “God, who at various times and in various ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets, 2 has in these last days spoken to us by His Son, whom He has appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the worlds; 3 who being the brightness of His glory and the express image of His person, and upholding all things by the word of His power, when He had by Himself purged our sins, sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high, 4 having become so much better than the angels, as He has by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they.

God is not shy. His presence is proclaimed throughout the ages and we can see evidences of Him everyday. God reveals himself and makes Himself know to His creation in two awesome ways. The First way God is revealed is in His creation. We see the proof of God everyday in our lives. When we wake and see the sunrise and we witness the seasons change and the precision of the earth’s movements, we are witness to God’s creation. Edwin Conklin a biologist in the 1800s once said, "The probability of life originating from accident is comparable to the probability of the Unabridged Dictionary resulting from an explosion in a printing factory." This world’s wonders and miracles are evidences in itself that God exists. God uses His creation as a revelation of His existence.

The second revelation that God gives us is through His gift of Jesus. Both of these revelations are described in His word, which is the Bible. The Bible, however, never tries to explain God. In fact, the first sentence of the bible simply states, “In the beginning God”. The Bible never tries to prove there is a God it simply acknowledges Him. The Bible does describe this “special” revelation of God’s messiah, or savior of His people, who is Jesus Christ. “Who being the brightness of His glory and the express image of His person and upholding all things by the word of His power, when He had by Himself purged our sins, sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high.” God is telling His creation that there is a need for a savior, telling them how to accept His wonderful gift, and telling His creation how important we are to Him.

God is speaking to us today, and He is reaching out His hand to a dark and dying world. He cares for us and desires a relationship with us. We have no excuse not to respond to His urging. Reach out your hand and tell God that you accept His Gift of Love, admit you are an offender of His law and that you are in need of His grace, believe that Jesus is the only way to have a relationship with God. Moreover, Confess to Him your sin, confess your belief in Him, and with the words of your mouth confess your acceptance of His free gift of salvation. (Romans 10:9) If you have already begun a relationship with Him through Jesus, make sure you tell someone else of God’s love for them.
