He is risen! He is risen indeed!

Mark 16:5-8: “And entering the tomb, they saw a young man clothed in a long white robe sitting on the right side; and they were alarmed. 6 But he said to them, ‘Do not be alarmed. You seek Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He is risen! He is not here. See the place where they laid Him. 7 But go, tell His disciples; and Peter; that He is going before you into Galilee; there you will see Him, as He said to you.’ 8 So they went out quickly and fled from the tomb, for they trembled and were amazed. And they said nothing to anyone, for they were afraid.”

The blood had been shed, the radical troublemaker was dead, and His followers were scattered. It had been a successful plan, well thought-out, planned with precision, and executed perfectly. The Scribes and Pharisees needed patience, and the Chief Priests just needed the right time, the ideal moment; their patience paid off for it went off without a hitch. These puppets however, did not realize that it was through the power of satan that all of the schemes that they plotted had been orchestrated. He was the architect behind the entire plan. It was he, who was behind each spit and lash. Every time someone mocked Jesus, he approved and enjoyed the scourge that Jesus endured. The devil thought he had won. He remembered what God told him when he was cast out of heaven. He also remembered what God said in the garden when God said, “And I will put enmity Between you and the woman, And between your seed and her Seed; He shall bruise your head, And you shall bruise His heel." (Gen 3:15)

Jesus was dead and the blood stopped flowing. They pulled Him off the cross and laid Him in a cold tomb, giving the devil reason to believe he had won. Finally after all these years he thought the son of God was humiliated before the entire world, that God Himself, was powerless to do anything. The stone was finally rolled across the entrance to the tomb and that was it, silence.

But wait … wait! …There was some movement at the tomb that glorious Sunday morning. The stone that they rolled in front of the tomb began to shift, and like a wheel, it was rolled to the side. Jesus got up and walked out of the tomb. The Son of God arose from the grave and utterly destroyed the plans of satan. Jesus’ power was on full display to the world. "O Death, where is your sting? O Hades, where is your victory?" satan witnessed the full power of Jesus Christ. Jesus did not stay on the cross, He did not stay in the tomb! Praise God, He arose form the Grave and vanquished the power of the devil. We serve a Living Savior!!! Is He your savior today?
