All things are possible to him who believes

Mark 9:23-25: “Jesus said to him, ‘If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.’ 24 Immediately the father of the child cried out and said with tears, ‘Lord, I believe; help my unbelief!’ 25 When Jesus saw that the people came running together, He rebuked the unclean spirit, saying to it, ‘Deaf and dumb spirit, I command you, come out of him and enter him no more!’”

After Jesus, James, John and Peter came down from the mountain where Jesus displayed His awesome power and God’s voice was heard, they came upon a problem. There was a crowd that was gathering around Jesus’ disciples. A man who had a son that was tortured by an evil spirit came to His disciples and wanted him to be healed. The problem arose when Jesus’ disciples tried to cast out the spirit, which was in the boy for an extremely long time, and they could not. So a crowd gathered along with the scribes who began disputing with them.

Jesus rebukes the crowd and the boy’s father and said, “"O faithless generation, how long shall I be with you? How long shall I bear with you? Bring him to Me." Jesus marveled at their unbelief and rebuked them because of all the other miracles that were performed and witnessed. Jesus said before if you have faith the size of a mustard seed you could remove mountains. This was a mountain. This boy had been controlled by satan since childhood. When satan has control over someone that long he will not give up ground easily. However, with belief, Jesus said all things are possible. Faith is the quality that is needed in the life of a Christ-follower. Do you have the same faith that Jesus talks about.

Are there struggles that you just cannot seem to overcome? Addictions, attitudes, or behaviors that you think are too big for Jesus? You can overcome anything when you walk in the victory of Jesus. Moreover, it is only through the blood of Jesus that you can accomplish it. Will it be easy? No, not always. Situations can be tough, breaking addictions are tough, but with Jesus, all things are possible. Just like casting out this spirit, was not easy. In fact, Jesus said that kind of spirit can only come out through prayer and fasting. Things are not always easy, but they are possible with Him.
