God's Cast aways?

Romans 11:1-2: “I say then, has God cast away His people? Certainly not! For I also am an Israelite, of the seed of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin.2 God has not cast away His people whom He foreknew. Or do you not know what the Scripture says of Elijah, how he pleads with God against Israel,”
God’s plan was that salvation would come through the Jews, God’s chosen people. However, the Jews, rejected his plan for salvation. In the scripture that we read today, Paul is asking if God had cast His people away for this rejection. Paul shouts with certainty, “Certainly not”; even though God’s very own people rejected His Messiah and in turn rejection God’s very own love. Like a rebellious child casts away from their parents in a tantrum of rage, so God’s people rebelled against Him.
But the Love of God and His grace is much stronger then their rebellion. Israel is still the apple of God’s eye, and He has not totally given up on her. Salvation is still available to the Jew always first and then to the gentile. God’s grace is to expansive to give up on his chosen. He loves them too much to turn His back on them forever. Salvation through the chosen Messiah, Jesus Christ, is still available. Israel’s rejection is not final. The dry bones will live again, and a great revival will ensue.
God’s grace is immense. As the Jews rejected God, the gentiles embraced it. “For if their being cast away is the reconciling of the world, what will their acceptance be but life from the dead?” (vs 15) God used the rejection of the Jews to propel the good news throughout the world. This scripture proves that God has our best interests in mind. The Jews rejected God’s gift, but yet He still loves them.
Do you know that God is in love with you right now, no matter where you are? He is pleading and wanting to have a relationship right where you are. If you are rejecting him in this time of your life, stop and realize that He is offering you a gift of His love. Why would you continue rejecting His offer?

Application – Know that God’s grace is deep and unsearchable.
Challenge – Pray and thank God for His grace and love. If you have been rejecting God, it is time to stop and surrender to His love.
